71st Golden Globe Awards (Nominees)

Oh yes! Awards season is official - Golden Globe Awards kicking it off.  Best thing is it will be hosted by my 2 favorite comediennes Tina "I can see Russia from here" Fey and Amy Poehler.

What I love about the Globes is that it is more relax than SAG and definitely more loose than the Oscars. 

Who are the nominees? 

Best Picture (Drama):

• 12 Years A Slave (frontrunner I believe)
• Captain Phillips (too bad did not see it)
• Philomena (promising)
• Rush (did not know it was Oscar material)
• Gravity (did not like it)

  Best Picture (Comedy or Musical)

• American Hustle
• Her
• Inside Llewyn Davis
• Nebraska
• The Wolf of Wall Street

 I heard that American Hustle was good, should be because of the ensemble cast.

Best Actress (Drama) - tough call!

• Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) - the frontrunner
• Sandra Bullock (Gravity)
• Dame Judi Dench (Philomena) - my queen :)
• Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks)
• Kate Winslet (Labor Day)

Best Actress (Comedy or Musical)

• Amy Adams (American Hustle) - would love to see her win an Oscar
• Julie Delpy (Before Midnight) - good acting but not worthy of a trophy
• Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha)
• Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Enough Said)
• Meryl Streep (August: Osage County) - need I say more??? her 28th Golden Globe nomination and might be her 9th win

Best Actor (Drama)

• Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave)
• Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom)
• Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips)
• Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) - hope he wins
• Robert Redford (All is Lost) 

Best Actor (Comedy or Musical)

• Christian Bale (American Hustle)
• Bruce Dern (Nebraska)
• Leonardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street)
• Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis)
• Joaquin Phoenix (Her)
