20th Screen Actors Guild Awards (Nominees)

Screen Actors Guild awards are more reliable indicator of who will be nominated and win the prestigious Oscars since in this round, actors nominate their peers and decide who wins.  Case in point, Brokeback Mountain versus crash.  Brokeback mountain won most of the awards in 20015 but since Crash took the trophy for best ensemble cast, they won the Best Picture on that year.  An upset for many including me.

Let's not forget that like the Globes, SAG honors also performances in the small screen.

The race is on for the 20th SAG.  I don't have an idea as of now who did the best but judging on the movie trailers and sneek preview of performances, this maybe one of the best mix.

Best Ensemble Cast

• 12 Years A Slave (Golden Globe nominee)
• American Hustle (Golden Globe nominee)
• August: Osage County
• Dallas Buyer's Club
• Lee Daniel's The Butler

Casting alone - the fights will be between, American Hustle, The Butler, and Osage County.

Female Actor

• Meryl Streep (August: Osage County)
• Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine)
• Sandra Bullock (Gravity)
• Judi Dench (Philomena)
• Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks)

All were nominated for the Globes.

 Male Actor

• Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave)
• Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips)
• Bruce Dern (Nebraska)
• Forest Whitaker (Lee Daniels' The Butler)
• Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club)
