Rak Of Aegis

I took pride on this Filipino production even the "name" was inspired by Rock of Ages and gave me a Kinky Boots vibe.

Love Aegis' music and I think how the compositions were used in a scene was spot on.  Voices were superb and the comic antics were always on right timing.

Now I understand why it went for a rerun.  A must see.

Kudos to all!!

Get Out Of Here

All good things must come to an end, it's been a really great 6 months staying in BGC, Fort.  Move out date is this Saturday and going back to the provincial town of Pasig/Cainta.

The time has come to say, until next time.

Living at Forbeswood Heights in Fort, Bonifacio Global City proved to be an expensive thing to be in.  Who can resist the restaurants around the place?  With all the moolahs spent, all worth it.  I am not going deny that the unit we're in need some serious improvements.

Babies loved it there... uhmmm maybe not Nicky boy :).

10 best Fort things I will miss
  1. Heroes Restaurant where geekiness and gastronomy collide.
  2. Best kebab in town, Persia Grill (I know they have branches but this is just a 5 minute walk)
  3. The guards of FWH who refused to tell real score surrounding Cornejo - Lee - Navarro incident.
  4. Sunrise and the physically active Fort-ers.
  5. Fully Booked.
  6. SM Aura.
  7. Speaking of aura, the glances you give to your "auras".
  8. Comfort of going to work, the BGC buses!
  9. McDonalds. KFC. Jollibee.
  10. The Circle.
Well, who knows we may return or maybe not...

America The Beautiful

Coca Cola has done it again, causing a stir with the American people with their 2014 Super Bowl TV Spot where the song America The Beautiful was sung using different languages.

I don't get the main issue here, like what one of the tv commentators has mentioned, regardless of the language being used - America the beautiful is still America the beautiful.

Sometimes, little things like this will make you realize that while we have gone far in terms of equality and harmony, there are still a lot of work to be done.

I really applaud the giant soda company not only for including Tagalog and having LGBT representation but for being inclusive and promoting diversity.

Looking

It's like what?  9 years I have been waiting and wanting to have a TV show that has a same format as that of Queer As Folk (US).

I am not a TV addict.  Music and Movies - Yes but not Tivo.  My interest in TV series started when I worked in Cayman and out of boredom, you will be pushed without any choice to be immersed in watching US series.

All good!

Here are some of the series we were hooked on (not in any particular order)
  • Queer As Folk
  • Six Feet Under
  • Sex And The City
  • Desperate Housewives
  • Ugly Betty
  • Will & Grace
  • True Blood
  • Brothers & Sisters
  • Modern Family
  • Nip/Tuck
Notice the trend? Of course as long as it has a dash of gayness, BAM!  We are in!

Now, I am so excited with the premiere of HBO's Looking, Jonathan Groff leads the pack and tells a story of group of gay friends living in San Francisco and trying search for real love.

Since this is HBO, there will be nudity and lots of "gay" sex which make the series be more interesting and exciting.

Looking at the clips, it looks good but then again, you have Ugly Betty, New Normal and Happy Endings which are ok but were axed.

I really hope it plays well, critically and commercially.

A Wicked Preparation

It's time to defy gravity!

At last, I was able to convince A to watch Wicked here in Manila.

Am so excited and need to buy the album and start memorizing the songs.

I did not watch this Tony Award winning musical in Broadway but I hope Manila's overall performance and production is par to say the least.

We are scheduled to watch the last performance so we expect it to be more spectacular.
