Exodus: Gods And Kings (2014)

This version was about grandeur.

Just like Noah, visually and all technical contributions were great in this film.  The production team and outfit took liberties in interpreting the book of Exodus.  They tried the scientific approach, it worked for the major part but for some - it needed a leap of faith.  I am puzzled also with some inconsistencies on this version but I am not a bible expert.  Some of the big names were underused.

I think the main challenge here was DeMille's "The Ten Commandments" and his monumental interpretation of Moses' story.  It's more coherent and soap opera-ish.  Especially for someone like me who has watched his film more than 20 times, I cannot help but to compare.

I don't even know how to erase the performances of Yul, Charlton, and Anne as Rameses, Moses, and Nefertiti in my head.  Just pure perfection.

Now here comes Anne's voice "Moses, Moses, Moses".

Overall it's better than Noah but I think Hollywood should give up interpreting biblical stories.
