Based on the story of the musical group Four Seasons focusing heavily on the group's lead singer Frankie Valli. It won several Tony awards for musical prior to its film adaptation.
I understand why it got mixed reactions from critics - dragging at times and it has the right amount of ingredients for to be a snoozefest, it will require a bit of an effort to keep you attached in the story. But then, it's musical - and not the razzle-dazzle type of musical. It doesn't have the glamorous stage execution nor a big-bang song and dance routine (well, the ending probably would count).
Personally, I liked it because of the story of friendship and some realizations about life. Songs are good too, reminded me of my dad and uncles.
