The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015)

It's not as bad as what the critics are saying.  Actually, it was more than enough to entertain.

It has its flaws and boring visual effects but the main problem for me is Miles Teller - he's so effective playing someone that you can easily get irritated with, undoubtedly, he is one of this generation's "it teen stars" having showcased serious acting chops in Whiplash.

I hope we don't get anymore new movies or series that discuss dystopian future, we've  had enough and saturated with the stories.  I know same can be said with superhero films.

Cinderella (2015)

One thing that Maleficent (commercially successful I must note) that can learn from Cinderella is to stick with the classic and original story.  Indeed, charming and magical but between this and Ever After, the latter wins.

Special mention to Cate Blanchett for bringing to life the evil stepmom and while Helena Bonham Carter's role is very short, she put an additional enchantment to it.

Big Hero 6 (2014)

Winner of Oscar's best animated film - no idea what this is about but knowing that it's from Disney, for sure it has lessons to be learned for all ages.

I watched this on my flight to Manila and like what they said, all is about perfect timing.  Timely indeed due to a recent tragedy in the family, my brother was in a critical condition and the movie dealt with a loss of a sibling.  Waterworks everywhere!!!

I don't know if it's because of the personal circumstances but Big Hero 6 is a really good film.

The Second Very Best Marigold Hotel (2015)

They're back!  This film series has become my movie soap opera.  Fell in love with the each individual's story and what's happening with their lives, so it's really good to follow their journey.

By not giving too much information, the story is being told in the perception of Dame Maggie.  While I will agree with critics that the first one is better, this still delivered the essential qualities of a good film - plus you have more Judi and Maggie conversations.

You still have the spot-on bickering between characters and will make you LOL!

I don't mind having a 3rd installment as long as you have the same casts and adding classic Brits.
