Well I am not a "Swiftie" but this it's undeniable that this girl has come too far (not as far as the our female divas) replacing herself in the Hot100. Yes, after All About That Bass - Taylor returned to top spot with "Shake It Off" for 3 consecutive weeks. Now she's still at the top with this song making her the first woman artist to replace herself in number 1. The song has a "Lorde" vibe I think - good and the album looks promising.
Nothing much that can be discussed in this sequel which I think is intentional for additional receipts of the franchise. The only thing worth remembering is the rescue mission, the rest are forgettable. I need to see the last installment to appreciate and understand if it's necessary to cut the last book into two. Harry Potter did an amazing job and justified why Deathly Hallows needed to be divided but this one... I have my reservations. But of course, overall it was still done tastefully. JLaw is still the shining beacon of the film. Good to see Seymour and Moore did well also.
I agree that this Jake owned this film. He gave an eerie and haunting performance that is worth to be considered for a nomination. The physical changes he underwent were necessary to add chills to his performance. Grippingly dark but will leave you wanting for more.
A Christopher Nolan film so there's an expectation set that it requires substantial thinking and looking underneath the surface. Interstellar is that film, a thought provoking craft although not as mindbending as Inception. The film was based more on scientific capability and vastness of time and space which I believe one of his obsessions. Great work but it requires intelligence about physics, whether the assumptions used here are true or not, arr irrelevant. Is it a worthy Oscar contender? It may be a bumpy road but definitely it will receive nods for its technicalities. Jessica Chastain may receive her 3rd nomination. Emotional performances from Oscar winners McConaughey, Hathaway, and Nolan long-time collaborator Caine.
Surprise cameos/minor roles also await the viewers. Worth your money so do watch it.
For the record, I am not a fan of "war" films. To be honest, I haven't watched critically acclaimed films like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down. I made an exception here for 2 reasons - Brad Pitt and Awards season. To my own delight, I was drawn into it. All the actions, drama, and goriness - made sense and relevant. Although you may have some challenges understanding Pitt's accent. Shia and Logan are revelations, didn't know they had that capability. It will be a long shot for this film to be considered in the Oscar race but still subject for consideration considering it's WWII movie.
