Every year there's a movie being released to defeat Insidious Chapter 1 which is the most scariest movie (in my opinion) I have ever seen. All the movies, Sinister, Conjuring, even the sequel to chapter 1 have failed even this one. Possessed dolls are not unique (very common in Philippine films) so I am expecting that somehow the background story will be good. I won't lie that it had its moments and definitely will scream but in terms of plot, I don't think it delivered - even the conflict did not make any sense. Some of the scary parts were rehashed from Insidious and failed to frighten.
I have high respects kay Nora Aunor as an actress and as much as possible, gusto kong panoorin iyong mga films niya kahit na nilalangaw sa movie houses. This time naman is suspense horror film at ang peg niya ditto ay isang babaeng may dementia. Siyempre kailangan kong ibaba ng konti ang expectations kapag pinoy horror at hindi ito pang-insidious type na effects so ang masasabi ko maganda naman siya, may moments na nakakatakot and quality ang execution. Of course best pa rin iyong "mata" acting ni Ate Guy. I love the twist nung kuwento din. Asar talo lang ako kay Jamine Curtis, sarap balatan sa kaartehan but I think ok din naman iyong acting niya for her age. Infernes cute din si Jeric Gonzales huh! Sad nga lang mga sampu lang kami nasa sinehan, ayaw talaga ng mga Pinoy sa mga quality films.
Adapted from a novel of the same name, while the conflicts are different, I still think the premise is still the same with the other dystopian/post-apocalyptic future novel based films like Divergent and Hunger Games series. Nothing worth mentioning or extraordinary in this film. It is good enough to leave you entertained.
Get ready for some kleenex! This album is a tearjerker (laslas pulso). LGBT's answer to Adele. His voice reminds me of Tracy Chapman. Great piece of work and really looking forward to see him rise to the top. Songs that I love, "Leave Your Lover", "La La La", "Stay With Me", "Not That Way", and "Lay Me Down".
Trumping Taylor Swift off the top of Billboard 100. This 60s sound music is all about curves and voluptuousness. The pastel colors in the video added delight too! Truly 2014 is all about Girl Power.
Double bitch slap from Mariah. I am still a proud lamb and will be forever loyal to Mimi but at this point I am having an Ariana fever. After hearing, appreciating, and loving her sophomore album - I thought why not get the debut album. Both albums reached the top spot in Billboard by the way. Ok... this one justifies why everybody is calling her the next MC. If I had not known Ariana, I certainly would think that it was Carey being played (not just only several tracks but every composition except that very Nickelodeon Popular song). Not just only the voice but also the style (layering) and well, this was produced also by Babyface (see Daydream album). Verdict - really good. It will grow on you slowly as it is an R&B tuned album (most songs) unlike the My Everything which was a shift to Pop (again, most songs) by engaging prominent producers (Guetta, Ryan Teder, Max Martin, etc.). Best songs so far - "Almost is Never Enough" and "Piano". That "Honeymoon Avenue" reminded me of Mariah's "Betcha Gon' Know". I will say this, the girl has a staying power.
If there are 5 tracks I liked in an album, I consider it a good craft. How do I begin with Ariana Grande the so-called "new" Mariah Carey? I bought the album because it contains the song Bang Bang although I am more interested to buy Jessie J's but her album will be released next month. Then there's Ariana waiting to be picked up. So the album, well all I can say is that it has all the recipe of a really great album. Impressive for a sophomore record. I can't believe I am saying these things. Truth be told I am loving it and planning to buy her first. And yes, there's a resemblance with The Elusive Chanteuse in terms of voice and style and it is not a bad thing. Although her voice is nothing like the 90s Mariah, more of the post TEOM era. The first 5 tracks are really amazing and then the rest are great if not good. Special props to the producers and contributors. My personal favorite besides Bang Bang would be One Last Time and Why Try. Mimi's going to go berserk at me. Hahaha!!! Ariana should improve her vocabularies though. I find the words very common. Hollandaise anyone???
